Transfer:Rumours And The Truth(Liverpool FC)

Liverpool has already missed bids on Connor Wickham and Sylvain Marveaux to other clubs in this transfer window but does it worth panic? I guess we need not worry much.
Wickham joined Sunderland from Ipswich who was widely linked with Liverpool and Sylvain Marveaux go for Newcastle for more money which was done by Damien Duff & Michael Owen previously.
Dimitri Payet has recently signed for Lille so there's one more target off the transfer chart.
The transfer of Charlie Adam would have been completed more than 15 times if you believe in rumours but Blackpool have not confirmed any bid for the Scotsman.
Stewart Downing and Gael Clichy are two players linked to Liverpool for weeks, yet neither player has signed for us.
Today  is  29th of June and we have only signed Jordan Henderson so far.So wait and watch Kenny standing side by side with his new signings on the Anfield pitch once they have been confirmed.
So all you need to do is ignore so called the worthless rumours and instead wait until what Kenny Dalglish has promised to do - tell the fans when there is something to say.

Liverpool Football Club Facts 2010-2011

A total of 37 players, from 15 nations, represented Liverpool Football Club this season.

Jamie Carragher
He is now the player with the second-highest number of appearances for Liverpool.

Dirk Kuyt
1.He became the first Liverpool player to score on his first ten penalty kicks for the club since John Aldridge - and that was in 1987.
2.He was the first Liverpool player to score a hat trick against Manchester United since Peter Beardsley in 1990.

Maxi Rodríguez
1.He became the first foreign midfielder to score 10 league goals in his first full season at the club - Mølby did so in his second season
2.He also became the first South American player to score more than once in a competitive match for Liverpool.
3He became the first midfielder to score two hat tricks in a Premier League season for the club.
4.He  became the first non-European player to score a hat trick for the club (Gordon Hodgson played for England, and as for Benayoun, Israel are UEFA members).
5.Maxi became the first non-European player to reach 10 league goals in the same season, eclipsing Craig Johnston and Harry Kewell, who had scored 7 apiece at their best.
6.Maxi was the first player to score a hat trick on away soil in a competitive fixture since Fernando Torres against Reading in the 2007-08 League Cup, and in the league since Michael Owen against WBA in 2003.

Luis Suárez
1.He scored his first league goal after just 16 minutes, tying Abel Xavier's club Premiership record.

Raul Meireles
His winning goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge marked just the third league goal for Liverpool on that ground since January 2004. Remarkably, all three Liverpool goals have been deciders in famous away 1-0 victories.
In the six PL fixtures Raul Meireles did not start we scored a mere two goals in them, recording a miserable five points.

Andy Carroll
He was the first player to score both for and against Liverpool in one season, since Dean Saunders in 1992-93.

Joe Cole
1.His stoppage-time winner against Bolton was our first of the sort at Anfield since Steven Gerrard in Middlesbrough in 2008. In the 2008-09, four matches were won in stoppage time.

Glen Johnson became the first right back to score against the same club in both Premier League fixtures, ironically his boyhood club West Ham United.

Roy Hodgson became the first Liverpool manager to win his five first European matches #FACT (astonishingly he beat Rabotnicki, Trabzonspor and Steaua.)
Liverpool had not scored five goals away from home in a competitive fixture since at Luton Town (5-3 in the 2006 FA Cup), before the 5-2 win at Fulham.

Fernando Torres
1.He ended up on 65 league goals for the club, more than any non-British Isles player, having moved past Mølby back in 2009. He is now chased by Dirk Kuyt, the Dutch hitman being just one goal away from 50.
Fernando Torres has scored 7 goals in 8 fixtures against Chelsea, but just once in 18 matches with them.

Liverpool looking for Barcelona youngster

Jeffren Suarez, 23 , who came on as a substitute against Real Madrid in El Clásico-2010 at the Camp Nou to score the fifth and final goal in a historic 5-0 win, is looking forward to compete in highest level as he has not  found first-team opportunities the Barca.

He has been recommended by Liverpool's chief Damien Comolli  to Reds boss Kenny Dalglish.

Jeffren had been strongly linked with a move to Italian Clubs but the player's father, Efren, insists he will not play in Serie A and has opened the door for an English club to make their move.

Efren said: "Playing in Italy is not a good option for Jeffren. He has more attractive offers from Spain and England."

Arsenal Defender Desperate For A Move To Liverpool

Arsensal Defender,Gael Clichy is desperate for a move to Liverpool despite £7million offer from Roma which is - £2m more than that from the Reds.
Clichy, 25, wants to be at Anfield rather than at Italy, and is prepared to hold out and pressing the Gunners to do business with Liverpool.
Kenny Dalglish is in search of a left back, after using Glen Johnson out of position for the majority of last season, also Fabio Aurelio was out due to injuries and the Paul Konchesky failed to settle in after his move from Fulham and was shipped out to Nottingham Forest on Loan.

Liverpool may sacrifice Portugese Raul Meireles

Perhaps surprisingly,Raul Meireles, who was the only one of last summer's signings to make a

: real impact at Anfield can be sold to finance summer spending spree.

The Portugal international midfielder was voted fans' player of the year after a promising debut in the Premier League, but he failed to hold down a place in central midfield for the Reds.

Instead he was often used wide of midfield, and with Downing and perhaps another winger on their way to Liverpool, his options would be further limited, as would his chances in the centre with the capture of Jordan Henderson and Adam.

Talks have proceeded on an informal basis with Inter Milan, and now the indications are that the Italians will get their man if they offer Liverpool a profit on their initial £12million outlay...and that deal could be processed quickly.

The Reds are also in talks with Roma over the sale of Alberto Aquilani, and new Fulham boss Martin Jol is interested in Joe Cole, while Dalglish is also looking to offload Milan Jovanovic, Maxi Rodriguez, Christian Poulsen, Paul Konchesky and Philipp Degen amongst others.

Downing can switch to Liverpool

Stewart Downing is set to join Liverpool if the Anfield club meet a £19m asking price.

Aston Villa does not want to lose Downing but with the winger stalling on contract talks Villa are ready to cash in.

Villa said that they will not deny Downing a move to Liverpool and is planning to use the proceeds of a sale to lure Charles N'Zogbia from Wigan.

Downing has his heart set on Anfield but a stumbling block could be the transfer fee.

Liverpool have been looking at alternatives with St Etienne's Dimitri Payet considered a possible target. Meanwhile, Rangers have confirmed they have made an offer for Villa defender Carlos Cuellar.

Liverpool linked with a £6.5million French striker Nolan Roux.

Liverpool are weighing up a surprise £6.5m deal for Brest striker Nolan Roux.
The 23-year-old is heading to England for talks this week and reports in France say Anfield is his destination.
Liverpool are willing to match the release clause in the Frenchman's contract to see off competition from Marseille and Schalke 04.
Roux: He is a 5.11ft striker who is right-footed by can finish well with his left and head. His goal scoring statistics this past season have not been something to ride home about, he managed to score 6 goals in 28 games. But the season before that he helped Brest gain promotion to the top flight by scoring 15 goals in 34 games.
Roux is said to be coming in as a replacement for David Ngog. Roux would be filling in as a backup striker for Suarez, Carroll and Kuyt but is this the kind of quality backup we need if we are to challenge for the Top 4 next season.

Dirk Kuyt

Dirk Kuyt, officially spelled Dirk Kuijt (born July 22, 1980, in Katwijk aan Zee) is a Dutch professional football player. He plays in the position of striker and is known for his high work-rate and team play. He started his career as a striker, earning the nickname The Cobbler due to his heart and attitude and desire to cobble goals from nowhere, but he has been converted into a winger and plays the position for both Liverpool and the Netherlands national team.He has been quite an important player for Liverpool Football Club. Ever since he signed in the summer of 2006, he has played an integral part in each season.

Growing upKuyt is third of four children. He grew up in the small fishing village of Katwijk aan Zee (at Sea), where his father was a fisherman.[2] His football career began when he joined the local amateur team Quick Boys at age 5. He broke into the first team in March 1998, playing the last six games of the season, and catching the eye of Eredivisie team FC Utrecht.

Kuyt And Liverpool

Upon joining Liverpool Kuyt stated "I only wanted to leave Feyenoord for a really big club, and that is what Liverpool are. They are a fantastic, big club and it will be a real pleasure to play here."

After sitting out the first game Kuyt made his Liverpool debut as a substitute against West Ham on 26 August. His first start came against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League and he has been first choice in most games since. In his third start for the club on 20 September 2006 Kuyt scored his first goal against Newcastle United in a Premiership game at Anfield, and followed up with another against Tottenham Hotspur in the next game. He scored his third goal for Liverpool with his father watching the game at Anfield, contributing to Liverpool's 3-1 win over Aston Villa. Two weeks later he bagged a brace, as the only scorer in the Reds' 2-0 victory against Premiership newcomers Reading.

In his first season at the club, the Dutchman hit the back of the net 12 times in the league – a fairly decent amount for his first season in a completely new league. Dirk scored the winning penalty in a tense semi-final shootout against Chelsea in the Champions League to send Liverpool to Athens. He then went on to score in the defeat to AC Milan in the final.Kuyt featured in Liverpool's opening game of the season against Arsenal at Anfield, the game finishing 1-1 and both teams finishing with 10 men. On 23 August, he played in the Red's heavy defeat to Manchester City at Eastlands and featured in Liverpool's UEFA Europa League qualifier against Trabzonspor, netting the winning goal in a 2-1 win 3 days later. On 29 August, he played in Liverpool's 1-0 win against West Brom at Anfield. An injury to his shoulder during a Netherlands training session forced Kuyt out for a month, but returned a week earlier than expected, celebrating by scoring his second goal of the season against Sunderland at Anfield on 25 September in a 2-2 draw.[11] Dirk Kuyt scored a penalty in Liverpool's 3-0 win against West Ham United. On 16 January 2011, he scored yet another penalty to draw Liverpool level 2-2 against Everton F.C., after Tim Howard fouled Maxi Rodriguez. On 24 February he headed in from a corner against Sparta Prague to put Liverpool through to the last 16 of the Europa League, winning 1-0 on the night at Anfield and 1-0 on aggregate.

On 6 March, Kuyt scored his first hat-trick for Liverpool in a 3-1 win at Anfield against Liverpools biggest rivals Manchester United. Kuyt added another goal to his Liverpool tally on 20 March 2011 scoring a well placed penalty against Sunderland. Kuyt scored his 11th goal of the season against Manchester City, with a neat finish to make it 2-0, with the game ending 3-0 to Liverpool. On 15 April, Kuyt signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2013. On 17 April, Kuyt scored a 102nd minute penalty after Emmanuel Eboue fouled Lucas Leiva to seal a late draw against Arsenal after Robin van Persie had scored a penalty in the 98th minute. The match finished 1-1. On the 23 April, Kuyt scored a 23 minute goal against Birmingham after a tussle inside the box, the match ended 5-0 to Liverpool. On the 1 May, Kuyt scored a 59 minute penalty against Newcastle United for the second goal in a 3-0 win.On 9 May 2011 he became the first Liverpool player since John Aldridge, in over two decades to score in five consecutive games, after his 16th minute goal against Fulham that led to a 5-2 victory.

After looking at Dirk Kuyt’s statistics from the past five seasons it is clear to see how important his role in the team is. He links up with his teammates well, scores a decent amount of goals every season, creates chances for his colleagues, runs himself into the ground every week and helps his defenders out. Furthermore, he is also very durable and can play in a number of positions. His place in the team may become less effective in the coming years but for the past five he has been excellent and one of Liverpool’s standout players.

Steven Gerrard

Steven Gerrard widely regarded as one of the greatest English footballers ever,  was born on 30th May, 1980 in Whiston, Merseyside,England. The town is about 8 kms to the east of the city of Liverpool. He was brought up in neighbouring Huyton and spent his childhood there.

Gerrard or Stevie G as he is called, is a natural central midfielder who can play in other positions with equal aplomb. He loves to make darting runs from the centre of the park into the striking area and his long range passing and shooting, coupled with his tackling ability makes him a player every manager would love to have in their side.

Gerrard attended the Cardinal Heenan Catholic high school in West Derby, Liverpool. Unlike Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Jamie Carragher and other famous Liverpool players who were childhood Everton fans, Gerrard was a Kopite from the beginning and joined his beloved club as a trainee when he was a school boy. He rose through the ranks quickly and made his debut as a substitute for Norwegian Vegard Heggem against Blackburn on 30th November 1998. His first full debut came against Celta Vigo in the UEFA Cup and his performance that night was a definite indicator that the lad was destined for stardom.

He made his first appearance in England colours against Ukraine at Wembley in May 2000 and has been an integral part of the English squad ever since. His first goal for England was a rasping 25 yard shot which gave Oliver Kahn no chance, in the famous 5-1 demolition of Germany in September 2001. His career was plagued by injuries in that period though, and he missed the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan with a groin injury.

He was given the captain's armband first in October 2003 by Gerard Houllier and has captained the Reds regularly ever since. He wears the No.8 jersey for the Reds and No.4 for England. He first captained England against Sweden in 2004, and led the side five times in 2007. When Steve McLaren took over from Sven Goran Eriksson in August 2006, he named Gerrard vice captain of the national team.A leader par excellence, the man gives nothing less than 100% when he is on the pitch. Fans voted him the " Nationwide Player of the Year '' in 2007.

Gerrard has scored in nearly every major final that he has appeared in for Liverpool, proving that he is somebody to be relied upon in big match occasions. Prominent among them is the headed goal against AC Milan in the Champions League final in 2005, which kickstarted Liverpool's amazing comeback and the last minute stunning 35 yard equaliser against West Ham in the FA Cup 2006 Final. He was also on the scoresheet in the 2001 UEFA Cup final against Alaves and the 2003 League Cup final against arch rivals Manchester United. He is also remembered for his crucial 25 yard strike against Olympiakos in the Champions League which assured the Reds of a place in the last 16 of Europe's most prestigious club competition. While Ian Rush still holds most of Liverpool's scoring records, Gerrard is the club's highest scorer in Europe.

Considered as Liverpool's prized asset by many, Gerrard is the pivot around which the Merseysiders revolve and his combination with Fernando Torres saw the latter score over 20 goals in his debut season . Given his versatility and consistency, it comes as no surprise that he is regarded as one of the best midfielders ever to grace the football pitch. Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has even stated his desire to keep Gerrard lifelong at Anfield. He is currently contracted to the Reds till 2011.

Gerrard has won several awards -

Gerrard may not be able to start of new season with injury

Steven Gerrard has revealed he is still fighting to be fit for the start of this season.
But he has insisted when he does return, he'll be back stronger and better than ever before, after finally triumphing over his perennial injury jinx.
Gerrard hasn't played since an appearance against Manchester United way back in early March, because of the groin problem that has troubled him throughout his career.
The problem eventually required surgery - and the longest lay-off Gerrard has ever faced in his career.

The Latics have made a third bid of 3.7million bid for Al-Habsi but Coyle is holding out for his valuation of 4m and Liverpool are set to take advantage of Wigans dawdling tactics by matching Bolton's estimation of the player.

Liverpool, Arsenal head-to-head for Birmingham defender Dann

The People says Liverpool and Arsenal are ready to battle it out for Birmingham City centre- half Dann – but prices in the Blues’ clear-out are proving too high.

Kenny Dalglish and Arsene Wenger are keen on the 24-year-old defender, who is viewed as a cheap alternative to other targets like Bolton’s Gary Cahill and Blackburn’s Chris Samba.

But City want £12million for the former England Under-21 international and that is putting off the Kop and the Gunners as well.

Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and Stoke are also on alert for him but only at around half of that price.

Gerrard prepared to knock off Man Utd - this season

Steven Gerrard says they must go for the Premier League title next season - and reagain the pride by knocking off Manchester United.
Gerrard is aiming for top spot. The England midfielder has won every medal in the game apart from the one that matters most.
He admitted: “If we were to get back in the top-four next season I think it would be a fantastic achievement.
“But we will be setting out to win the league - because that’s what you do year in and year out at Liverpool.
“The way that United were playing you knew the 19th was going to come.
“It did hurt because they are our biggest rivals.
“We’ve got a good side together.
“Hopefully, it’ll be strengthened with a few new signings in the next few weeks before we go back.
“Then we’ll be in a position where we’re competitive next season.”

Maxi Rodriguez wants to stay at Liverpool.

In an interview with an Argentinian radio station last week Rodriguez admitted he wants to return to his former club Newell's Old Boys one day. This was mis-translated into a suggestion that Maxi was seeking an immediate return to Argentina. This is not the case.

But he has sought to clarify those statements with Liverpool, though, and committed himself to the club for the remaining two years of his contract.

He does want to finish his career at Newell’s but, after showing fine form in the run-in, has been told by Liverpool that he remains an important part of their plans for next season.

LITTLE GEM.......Stephen Gerrard, aged 12

Born in Whiston, Merseyside,Gerrard started out playing for hometown team Whiston Juniors, where he was noticed by Liverpool scouts. He joined the Reds' youth academy at the age of nine.Steven Gerrard then had trials with various clubs at fourteen, but his success wasn't immediate—Gerrard never made it into the England Schoolboys team. Gerrard's trials included Manchester United, which he claimed in his 2006 autobiography was "to pressure Liverpool into giving me a YTS contract."He signed his first professional contract with Liverpool on 5 November 1997.

Gerrard made his Liverpool first-team debut on 29 November 1998 in a match against Blackburn Rovers as a last minute substitute for Vegard Heggem. He made thirteen appearances in his debut season, filling in the midfield position for injured captain Jamie Redknapp and playing on the right wing, but he scarcely contributed in the short on-pitch time he received, due to nervousness affecting his play. Gerrard recalled in a November 2008 interview with The Guardian, "I was out of position and out of my depth." The Liverpool hierarchy nonetheless remained convinced that he would improve. Gerrard saw himself as a defensive player primarily, looking to make key tackles rather than push the team forward.

Transfer Reinforcements:Area's To Improve

We all fans of Liverpool are getting very excited ahead of the upcoming Barclays Premier League campaign, and we have some very good reason for it.
The return of Kenny Dalglish midway through last season coincided with a revival in the team's fortunes, as the wily old Scot captured the imagination of the Kop with the arrivals of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.
While many lament the fact we will be deprived of European football for the 2011/12 season, but it will actually prove a blessing for us in disguise as we can fully focus on Premier League.
However, if they are to mount a credible title challenge, new additions could help bolster a talented group of players. Dalglish has already added the capture of England young gun Jordan Henderson for a fee of £20million. With the club's owner, John W. Henry, reportedly eager to splash the cash this summer, here are a number of areas that could do with some reinforcements.
Left-back
A look back at the players who have played at left-back for Liverpool over the last two seasons are a good illustration of the problems that are plaguing the club.
Signing Fabio Aurelio, releasing him on a free, and then re-signing him again had Liverpool fans wondering what on earth the club were attempting to do. Paul Konchesky was another who proved to be a transfer flop, ending this season playing in the Championship with Nottingham Forest.
During the 2009/10 season, young Argentine Emiliano Insua rose to the fore and put in a number of impressive displays, yet was loaned out to Galatasaray for the whole of this season. While the likes of Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson have adapted capably whilst playing out of position, Kenny Dalglish has to address this problem this summer.
The Daily Mail has recently linked Liverpool with both Lyon's Aly Cissokho and Osasuna's Nacho Monreal. Cissokho, 23, and Monreal, 25, are both relatively young and should fit in perfectly with Dalglish's policy of rebuilding the team with talented young players. Both are also defensively sound, but are eager to get forward whenever possible. Cissokho, who is two years younger and has Champions League experience, is likely to cost more. However, he has more scope for improvement and could just be worth the investment.
Left-midfield
Maxi Rodriguez's two hat-tricks in quick succession against Birmingham and Fulham covered up the fact that for much of his time at Anfield, he has never quite been physical enough to stand up to the demands of the Premier League. And at 30, he is not getting any younger.
A quick glance around Liverpool's playing stocks reveals a dearth of wide midfielders. Joe Cole has flattered to deceive, and looks set for a summer exit, while the fact that Dirk Kuyt, traditionally a forward, has had to toil manfully down the right suggest Liverpool could do with a couple of wide men.
Ideally, the Kop would like to see the arrival of a big name signing. Lille's Eden Hazard has been linked with Liverpool in the past, and is coming off the back of a stunning season, in which he claimed the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award, after helping guide Lille to the domestic league and cup double.
However, the club will face stiff competition for Hazard's signature, with leading clubs from Spain and Italy all interested as well. While Dalglish looks likely to have the financial backing of the club's owners, perhaps it may be wiser to invest in someone who would come cheaper, yet has proven his ability in the Premier League.
That man, could very well be Stewart Downing. In his spells with Middlesbrough and Aston Villa, the left-winger has made 244 appearances  in the Premier League, and he is still only 26. Downing often gives the impression he is slightly injury-prone, but in his last four seasons, he has played 38, 37, 25 and 38 Premier League games, a sure-sign of longevity. When in full flight, there can be no doubts over Downing's ability, with his penetrating runs and dangerous crosses an asset any top-flight club would be happy to have.
Downing would have a great opportunity to make the left wing his own if he arrives at Anfield, which would free up Maxi, still a capable player, to alternate between either flank, thus freeing Kuyt up to play more centrally, or even up front.
Striker
The future of Liverpool's attack looks set to be the partnership of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll. However, Liverpool's reserves in attack leave much to be desired. Dalglish should prioritise a young striker with much scope of improvement as one of this top summer targets.
One of the names heavily linked to Anfield since the transfer window opened at the start of June has been Ipswich's young hitman Connor Wickham, who has also caught the eye of Arsenal and Tottenham.
Standing at 1.91m, Wickham is a throwback to the traditional English centre-forward, not dissimilar to Carroll, but is significantly quicker.
The England U-21 international has already made 72 appearances for Ipswich since his debut in 2009, and while he has only netted fifteen goals, his overall gameplay and contribution to the team has many tipping him to be one of England's future stars.
Should Dalglish be concerned over this lack of experience at elite football, Barcelona's Bojan and West Brom's Peter Odemwingie loom as more viable options, although both have more glowing credentials, and are likely to cost more. It also remains to be seen whether either will be content to warm the bench for Suarez and Carroll.
Centre-back
The heart of the defence is one area in which Liverpool have recently been strong at, with Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger all capable in holding up the fort at Anfield.
However, a closer look suggests problems could arise should something untoward strike Liverpool.
Carragher, the bedrock of Liverpool's defence for the last decade, is already 33 and on his last legs. With his increasing years have arrived more frequent injuries, which will only hasten an end to an accomplished career.
Agger is arguably the most naturally-gifted defender at the club, but he too is constantly plagued by injury problems. When fit, the Danish international offers Liverpool an added edge in defence, but how often have we seen him play ten or more games consecutively.
Skrtel, on the other hand, has been one of the club's most consistent players this past season, but he is more of a no-nonsense enforcer, rather than a ball-playing libero. While he does his job well, a partner in the centre who is capable of bringing the ball out comfortably would perfectly complement the Slovakian international.
With Sotirios Kyrgiakos surely not good enough to play for a club like Liverpool, it would be ideal if a young centre-back stepped up as the long-term successor to Carragher. Danny Wilson will be hoping he gets his chance next season, while it wouldn't hurt to experiment with Martin Kelly in the centre. While the 21-year-old has been blooded as a full-back, he definitely has the height and the ball-playing ability to play in the heart of defence.
However, should Dalglish desire someone who is ready-made to blend in at Anfield, the Premier League offers quite a few viable choices. If he is to maintain his recent policy of buying young English talent, Bolton's Gary Cahill looms as a perfect choice. Stoke's Ryan Shawcross is another outstanding young option, but with his background as a Manchester United trainee, it remains to be seen if the Kop will take to his purchase.
Nonetheless, if Liverpool could pull it off, they should look no further than Blackburn's Christopher Samba. The Congolese is unbeatable in the air and strong in the tackle. While nowhere as skillful as Agger, Samba is reasonably comfortable on the ball. More importantly, the Blackburn man-mountain is a born leader, and often rallies his troops on. With Carragher bound to retire in a few more seasons, Liverpool will desperately need an imposing voice at the back.
