Liverpool plan to go for a new goalkeeper


Liverpool wants to snatch Bolton goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi, after Wigan failed to meet clubs valuation of the player.

The Omani international was at Wigan on a season-long loan deal and Wigan wants to sign Habsi on permanent basis.He also won the club's player of the year award.

The Latics have made a third bid of 3.7million bid for Al-Habsi but Coyle is holding out for his valuation of 4m and Liverpool are set to take advantage of Wigans dawdling tactics by matching Bolton's estimation of the player.

Kenny Dalglish wants an experienced goalkeeper to provide cover for current No.1 Pepe Reina.

Al-Habsi has been identified as the ideal candidate and Dalglish is hoping to up a swift deal for the 'keeper within the next week.
