Maxi Rodriguez wants to stay at Liverpool.

In an interview with an Argentinian radio station last week Rodriguez admitted he wants to return to his former club Newell's Old Boys one day. This was mis-translated into a suggestion that Maxi was seeking an immediate return to Argentina. This is not the case.

But he has sought to clarify those statements with Liverpool, though, and committed himself to the club for the remaining two years of his contract.

He does want to finish his career at Newell’s but, after showing fine form in the run-in, has been told by Liverpool that he remains an important part of their plans for next season.
